My Journey
On December 30, 2014 I was diagnosed with aplastic anemia. It is a serious blood disorder where your immune system attacks your bone marrow causing your bone marrow to stop producing blood. Most people look at me and wonder why I would have to face a trial like this at the age of 25 . I have never once questioned God because I know who the giver of life is!!! I thank God I don't have something incurable or cancer!! God has blessed me with the greatest support staff I could ever ask for! My pastor, church, friends, and family stand right beside me.
I recently got my transplant schedule. I will be leaving for Duke March 18. I have to have a main line put in heart for the transplant. I start chemotherapy on the 20th and it will be mild doses. That is also a miracle!! After a week of chemo, the bone marrow will be inserted in my main line and by the help of God it will graft perfectly without complications. I will go home every day after treatment and will not spend a day in the hospital as long as there is no complications.
UPDATE: March 24, 2015
Praising God this is my last day of Chemotherapy!!! Over all I have done as good as to be expected. The doctors, nurses, and the Great Physician has taken great care of me!!! Special thanks to my church, family, and friends for all the prayers that have went up over past few days.
Tomorrow I will have the bone marrow transplant. I am very grateful to the 34 year old German who is donating his bone marrow today, for me to receive tomorrow! Donating bone marrow is a very complicated process and painful. Please remember him in prayer today. I pray that God will bless him and he will have a quick recovery!! I love each one!!! God is good!!
MARCH 25. 2015 AT 10:39AM
Praise the Almighty God this morning! Bone marrow transplant is underway!! God has brought me through fire this week with chemo. This morning I laid the huge bag of bone marrow on top of a bag of prayer clothes my church prayed over in revival and anointed with oil. I then laid my open Bible on top while I read Ezekiel 16:6 "And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live!!" I felt the power of the Holy Ghost as I prayed for God to reveal His glory and heal my body!!! I still have a long ways to go but God is with me! God has not brought me this far to go down defeated!! All things in life have a purpose! I know my purpose in life is to preach the gospel of peace from a heart of love! Remember me in prayer today that all goes well. Nurses say this is one of the biggest bags of bone marrow they have seen, but what else can you expect from a big God?!?!
