Pastor Paul D Day is the son of Rev Alex D Day & Juanita Taylor Day. Rev Alex Day was an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God for almost 50 years before he went to be with the Lord in 2006. Debbi's parents, Russell and Jackie Scott, live in Florida, — Paul and Debbi met in the coffee shop where Debbi worked in Avon Park, Florida. They were married on July 4, 1972.

After several "tries" at different vocations, Paul became a very successful Entrepreneur — Businessman, and was involved in and owned seafood processing plants in Louisiana for several years. God began to speak to his heart, and in 2007, he finally submitted to the call on his life to minister. Paul and Debbi completed the CIMS program with the Church of God International, and in March of 2008, they were sent to pastor the Amherst Church of God. That was just the beginning!

Three of their greatest accomplishments are their 3 adult children: Paula, Jeremy, and Shannon who have grown up in the fear and admonition of the Lord, serving God, and making their parents proud, and their grandson — Alexander Scott Day (Xander) — and Granddaughter Sylvia Jacqueline Westbrook.
